Mechanical

Mechanical division is a major player in the supply of equipment covering rotating equipment, generators, process equipment, piping and valves. It has a solid repute in the field of multi-phase pumping. It also markets centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps and cryogenic pumps, in addition to compressor packages, air & gas reciprocating and centrifugal compressors. Since its inception, the division has grown to represent the leading multinational partners in the field of rotating, static and piping equipment. Set up to primarily serve the mega -projects in the country, the division is presently capable of meeting the requirements of diverse operations covering offshore, onshore, gas, refineries and petrochemical projects. The division has a solid reputation with its track record of achievements, and is backed by dedicated team of sales engineers who process a combined wealth of experience in the specialized environment if the UAE and Gulf. Products and services under this division cover pumps , compressors , expansion Joints , valves , seals , bearings , couplings , multi -phase pumping systems , heat exchangers , pipes , fittings and flanges in different type materials etc… The division serves the power generation segment's growing needs for land-based and marine-type gas turbines from 50 KW to 60 MW capacities in stand-by as well as continuous mode operations. Mechanical division has significantly supported prime manufacturers of ball valves who procure their forging material from European sources. It also offers double block and bleed valves, various types of gate, globe and check valves and various types of actuators. The division has been highly commended for supply of choke valves on couple of projects in the UAE where quality and reliability are of utmost importance.

The Instrumentation & Control

The Instrumentation & Control Division has been catering to the government and private sectors of UAE by supplying a range of Quality Products such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Industrial Application Software, Operator Interfaces, Integrated Networks, Condition Based Monitoring, Safety Products, Motion Control, Medium Voltage Products, Drive Systems, Variable Speed AC + DC Drives, Industrial Controls, and Fire & Gas Detectors. We also provide a portfolio of services such as Training, Field Services, Annual Maintenance Contracts, Software Support Contracts, Repair Services, etc.

The division is responsible for automation & control systems, fire & gas systems, ESD systems, SCADA systems, vibration and condition monitoring systems, hydraulic/pneumatic control panels, anti-surge controllers, turbine control upgrades and wellhead control packages, noise monitoring equipment and oil in water monitors.

The division has the expertise in marketing of complete turnkey solutions for tank terminal automation and loading arm automation used extensively in tank farm applications. It offers cutting edge technology solutions on pipeline SCADA required on major pipeline or multi-product transportation systems, in addition to emergency shutdown systems and fire and gas systems, where the division represents one of the prime manufacturers well known in the European and Middle East markets.

ASOS Supported by Principal Honeywell Analytics has established a service centre in Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi with in Ali & Sons workshop facilities. The service centre is equipped for testing, repairing, training, calibration & certification of all types of gas detection systems. The engineers and technicians at our Mussaffah base are also capable of undertaking on site services such as Annual maintenance contracts, on-site/work shop repair & and modification work for all types of Gas detection systems.

The division's capability lies in offering complete turnkey solutions from small fire extinguishers to very large fire detection and protection systems. Unmanned remote sensing and operating devices have been developed successfully in offering fire, smoke and heat detection.

Chemical & Process

The activity of this division comprises:

• Process components such as trays, structured and random packing, internals for separation columns and reaction technology
• Engineering services for separation and reaction technology such as optimizing energy consumption, plant optimization studies, pre-engineering for governmental approval, basic engineering

Engineering Projects & Marine Services

The nucleus of a service division has been planted and its growth strategy has been charted in a mirror image to client needs.

The division is actively involved in the growth process of the energy sector. It is responsible for maintaining an upto-date database for the present and planned projects in the oil & gas and petrochemicals industries. Apart from performing a coordinator role, the division partners with several major international principals in the fields of design and supply of heavy structural steel solutions, cryogenic insulation, personal safety systems and in site pipeline coating systems.

The Projects & services Division is geared up for the future with plans for:

• Expansion of Engineering services
• Provision of dedicated fabrication and erection facilities for its EPC contractors
• Introduction of innovative services solutions in the maintenance and asset integrity field
• Diversifying the division offering both the clients and the developers in the independent water and power projects (IWPP).
• Serving the Marine Offshore Contracting Services with highly qualified Management and Staff.

This division took a turn-around and started actively marketing Principals of its own for consultancy works and specialized subcontracting activities. This enabled us to transform it from an internal service division to a fully fledged profit center. Today, the growth of the division and its deep roots in the grassroots projects market in both the oil & gas and utilities sectors has led it to the league of EPC and EPCM contracting. Through sponsorship of leading international engineering contractors and teaming up with existing market players, Ali & Sons Oilfield Supplies & services is now present in all major current opportunity areas in the UAE and is all geared up for similar involvement on a regional level.

Drilling & Work-over

This division is the integral part of the company's activities and has been continually strengthening its capabilities to serve national and international operating companies in the upstream oilfield market better. In the last year, Drilling division has built long-term relationships with major oil service companies, developing the market for its partners in diverse application areas. The Drilling division is now moving into new opportunity areas in the oilfield services sector such as Air Drilling, Under Balanced Drilling Top Drive Rental and Supply Services. Whip Stock and Expandable Profile Liners, Reaming/ Under Reaming, Near Bit Ejector Pumps, Fishing and Down Hole Rentals, Tubular Inspection Services, Casing Drilling and Tubular Running Services, Drilling Contracting and Consultancy Services, Specialized Drilling Manpower Supplies Services, Mud Chemicals Supplies and Mud Engineering Services, Sonic Stimulation and Water/ Oil Screens Systems. Drilling Equipment Packaging and Rig Maintenance, Drilling Rigs Inspection and Drilling Rig Crane Calibration, EPC contracting for maintenance workshops construction etc. A significant factor in the Drilling division's success is its people. Technology in the drilling and production sector has brought drilling costs down rapidly since 1980's and this trend will continue. The future remains in areas such as slim well design using expandable tubing, under-balanced drilling, smaller drilling rigs, smart wells and environmental technologies. The Drilling division will continue to develop the existing markets but also seek to position the company to take advantage of the developing technologies in the years to come...

Shutdown & Maintenance Division

ASOS can offer Shutdown Maintenance Turnkey Services ranging from dismantling to operating of equipment, maintenance, re-installing of equipment, hydro-testing and return back into service.

ASOS tank de-sludging and cleaning is based on utilizing the Crude Oil Washing "COW" techniques without entry of personnel, working all the time under a non-flammable and non-toxic environment. The sludge recovery system "SRS" ensures the highest oil recovery for the customer from his tank sludge with the minimum downtime to its export operations.

ASOS Corrosion Monitoring and Control Services were established with an objective of fighting corrosion and giving necessary technical consultancy advice and support to operating companies to either mitigate or prevent corrosion. Our on-site service team will install, commission, maintain and operate your system; collect data, prepare reports, service equipment and repair faults. Our equipment expertise is backed by our Principal owned factory support for spares and replacements.

ASOS also offers the supply of cranes and related components including maintenance and calibration. With a self-directed team, fully committed to customer service providing Telephone Support, On-Site Service, Maintenance, Factory Service, Services for Projects, Retrofit, Parts and Training.
